DOMO is a name that resonates throughout the Australian interior design community. For over three decades, the brand has been a conduit of European trends, and it remains an exclusive local stockist of some of the world’s most prestigious and sought-after furniture brands.
Founded by Francesco Novembre in 1984, DOMO is still very much a family business. With seven showrooms located across Victoria, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales, it delivers a carefully curated selection of quality contemporary classic, indoor and outdoor furniture ranges that are designed to last a lifetime.
While the brand has built a significant online presence, they believe it’s no substitute for trying, testing and visually experiencing how products work together. DOMO’s showrooms reflect this mix of contemporary, classic and occasional with aplomb. Today, they stock over twelve international collections, including Grange, Ligne Roset, Sika Design, Roda, Marchetti, Duresta and de Sede.
Each brand is painstakingly chosen for its symbiosis with the DOMO ideals of commitment to quality and craftsmanship. DOMO looks for practicality in design, originality and vision when it comes to selecting furniture for its clients, which includes both the professional design community and private buyers alike.
With more than 50 expert staff Australia-wide, the team has a passion for offering the very best in customer service.
2018 has been a stellar year for DOMO thus far, with growth in their new “in house” collections including DOMO Elements and DOMO Homewares, both of which are now offered for wholesale.
The DOMO Elements Collection offers a range of quality occasional furniture, from side tables to drinks trolleys. All come with complementary accessories that either work together with the occasional pieces or can be purchased as standalone items. Every year the DOMO team visit various trade fairs around the world to search for furniture and accessories that support this concept.
The DOMO Homewares Collection is sourced from exclusive suppliers and artisans around the world. The range is constantly evolving with the regular arrival of new products that complement the carefully curated selection of contemporary and classic furniture.
2018 has seen the introduction of a greater and diverse range of lighting, vases and soft furnishings. The DOMO styling and design team attend the most prestigious international trade fairs to source coveted pieces and to keep abreast of the latest developments in colour, form and materials.
This ongoing research helps the Homewares Collection to stay in tune with interior trends. It includes products by a wide range of local and international artists, designers and makers.
When asked what trends they’ve been noticing in purchasing this year, DOMO say it’s all about versatility right now:
“We’re finding that customers are being attracted by quality, they are seeking better made products that offer a point of difference and that expresses their personality. Whilst they like to change the look, they are also looking for products that can be mixed with a changing colour palette.”
The theme of this year’s Australian House & Garden International Seminar Series at Decor + Design is ‘Everyday Luxury’. It’s a concept that DOMO live and breathe. They’ve curated a collection that offers luxury at every price point and interior style. From contemporary to classic, DOMO offers a wide range of furniture, lighting and homewares that suit all our desires for a more luxurious interior. From beautifully handcrafted furniture to artisan-made ceramics and venetian glassware, the DOMO collection truly offers something for everyone.
